Measuring Pupillary Distance:
An Easy Guide for Perfectly Fitted Glasses
PD (Pupillary Distance) is the space between the centers of each of your pupils. Measuring your PD is crucial for ensuring your prescription glasses provide clear vision and a comfortable fit. At Lens R Us, we've created an easy-to-follow guide for measuring your PD, whether you're doing it alone or with a friend. Follow these simple steps to get an accurate measurement every time.
STEP 01
Stand about 8 inches away from a well-lit mirror. Hold a small ruler, pencil, and paper in hand. Look straight ahead and position the ruler over the bridge of your nose.
STEP 02
Starting with the right eye, line up the ruler's zero end with your pupil, and measure the distance from your right to left pupil. Repeat a few times to ensure accuracy.
STEP 03
If you're getting a friend to help, stand facing each other with a ruler marked in millimeters, pencil, and paper. Have your friend measure the distance from your right to left pupil, and then repeat on your left eye.
STEP 04
Write down the number that lines up with your left and right pupils, respectively, and repeat to ensure accuracy.
STEP 05
Once you have your PD measurement, simply fill in the numbers in your cart and you're good to go!
